The Calgary Children's Choir 20th Reunion! May 25th-26th, 2007

The year 2007 marked the 20th Anniversary of the Calgary Children's Choir, and to celebrate the occasion we had a reunion and concert on May 25, 26, 2007. About thirty alumni came back to share in a reception and a few rehearsals over the course of the two days. It all culminated in a wonderful concert incorporating all choristers - past and present - in the Rosza Center. Many of our favorites were performed, including Shenandoah, We Rise Again, Daar Kom Die Alabama, Flying Free, A Child's Carol, Cape Breton Lullaby, Come Let's Be Merry, and of course, The Streets of London. One of our former choristers Kathryn ( Chomik ) Parotta, wrote a setting of the Psalm 23, which was premiered that evening.

Many people came back to visit, and we were especially thrilled to be joined by  Esther ( Knapp ) Woelfle - long time accompanist with the choir, as well as our founding director Rosemarie Sherban, who spoke, and conducted some of the pieces. A great time was had by all, and discussions are taking in the planning of another similar event to mark our 25th anniversary!
